No sound when I rebot or shutdown

When I reboot or shut down my computer the sound disappears (but not the
System sound).I can"t listen no sound from cds, dvds or files of music that I
have recorded in my computer. To have sound again I have to uninstal and
instal the sound card(Sound Blaster Audigy Live 5.1) using the cd which came
with the sound card. But at the next reboot or shutdown the sound is gone. I
also have sound on board (AC97) - disabled. When I uninstall(removing) Sound
Blaster and enable AC 97 in the Bios I have sound till next reboot and again
I have to disable and enable AC97 in the Bios to have sound, till next reboot
or shutdown.
Can anybody help me please!

I think it"s not the case because I have this card in my omputer since August
- 2004 and it always worked very well (the problem only appared 10 days ago)
and I disabled AC97 in the bios before installing that sound card in August
2004. Moreover I saw in Device Manager there was no conflict with any other
hardware.Thanks.

If it worked a week or so ago, try a System Restore, you can go back
up to 90 days. Hope it works for you.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
