How come the text won't show up in the 2003 version?

My computer has powerpoint 2007. i have text boxes in my powerpoint and the
font of the text in the text box is ariel. then i saved it in the 97-03
compatible version so it will work at school. i tried to view the compatible
version in powerpoint viewer 2003 , and none of the text showed up. i know
that the 2003 version has ariel font..so why does this happen?

I've seen this happen also, but I've no idea why it does.

You might try saving the file as HTML then opening the HTML file and
re-saving it as a PPT file. Sometimes that helps. Unfortunately, I also
don't know a more reliable fix.
