How can I get different names on each label?

I have tried creating labels using Publisher and also Word by merging my data
from Excel. Each time I get a page of 30 of the same name instead of 30
different names. I saw all 30 names the same on the print preview but tested
by printing as someone suggested and I still got 30 of the same name on each
page. HELP!

Are you doing a MAIL MERGE ... or using the Envelopes and Labels option on
your Tools menu?

You must use the Mail Merge function in order to pull your data from an
Excel file.

Are you saying that in Print Preview your document displays with the 30
different names... but prints with all the same?

I was using the mail merge function in Word.
The print preview showed 30 of the same name but someone had suggested that
the names would be correct when printed as this was a software glitch. I
still got 30 of the same name as shown.

More than likely the <Next Record> field wasn't added. If you could tell us
which version of Word you are using we could tell you how to fix it. :)

Thanks so much. You were right about the next record field. That did the trick!

Another possibility is that you have merely propagated the label and not
completed the merge. You must choose Merge to New Document or Merge to
Printer (or E-Mail or Fax).
