How can I change the USA date format in Outlook to day/month/year?

I am running Outlook 2000 under Windows XP. Windows XP is set-up to English
(UK) settings but Outlook is showing the date format for emails as
month/day/year. It only started doing this after I recently carried out a
'Detect and Repair' function for Outlook. How can I return the date format in
the (Inbox) Received column back to day/month/year? Thanx in advance.

When you go into the Control Panel || Regional and Language Options || what
is the short date format listed as
