How do I set the date format to day/month/year?

I recently upgraded to Win XP from Win 98. Everything went well and I have
the Regional settings set to UK. However, the date formats in Outlook 2000
(dates in the 'Received' column in the 'Inbox') and Excel 2000 seem to be set
to month/day/year. How can I get back to day/month/year settings for
everything? Is the issue in the PC or is it in the individual programs?

Note - when I look in other programs such as Windows Explorer (in the column
'Date Modified' for example) the date format is correct (day/month/year).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Regional and Language Options is indeed the place where you need to set
this. You can manaully overule it by rightclicking the column and choose
Format Column

Hello Roady

Thanks for your response. I do not understand why I have this problem if I
have the correct 'Regional and Language' settings. Why are dates MDY instead
of DMY in Outlook 2000 and Excel 2000?

As you stated, I can change this in Outlook by going to the 'Received'
column in 'Inbox' and right clicking (go to 'Format Columns...' then
'Format') but many of the options are MDY. The fomat option I prefer to use
is not in DMY.

In Excel, I can select a date and click 'Data' on the Toolbar, select 'Text
To Columns...' and hit 'Next ' twice until I get to 'Column Data Format'
which is set to 'General' however the text (date) displayed in the 'Data
Preview' pane below this is MDY format.

How do I reset all dates in both Outlook and Excel to DMY format in
accordance with the Regional and Language Options settings?

Regards
