HomePage Loses ALL Formatting

Dear FP Gurus;

This is driving me NUTS and I have been through all of the discussion
threads looking for an answer before I posted! I am using FP2000 to build my
site at www.streetsmartinvesting.net; however, I have a problem that keeps
happening! Oftentimes when I open my index.htm homepage, the formatting
(tables, pics, font, etc) is all over the place and the whole page is screwed
up and I CANNOT fix it. This seems to happen for "no reason" even after I
have saved the page and I the reopen it. Also, if I import the index page
from my backup on my C: drive, it doesn't repair the page and formatting, the
'imported' file takes on the same screwed up formatting characteristics as
the file being replaced. This has happened A LOT and I had to rebuild my
entire homepage. I'm running out of curse words! This also caused me to
lose all of my Google page rank!!!! What is happening? I am no HTML
programmer, but should I buy Dreamweaver or some other software? I have
heard a lot of horror-stories about Frontpage, but I do not know if that is
just techno-purists complaing about details or if this software is really a
problem. I'm a real estate investor - not a programmer!

PLEASE help - I'm desperate here....

Yes sir. I just republished it as a test. However, there is a 50/50 chance
that when/if I reopen the page it will become 'discumbuberated..." I'm
afraid of even trying to make any edits...

Rebuild the page using tables to lay out the page, and do NOT use
absolute positioning.
The absolute positioning is causing the page to appear jumbled as the
browser window size is changed.
In fact, the AP items stay still, while the rest moves around and
under them.

Never place absolutely positioned items inside table cells - this is
courting layout disaster.

Thank you for the feedback. I do in fact have 'Absolute Positioned' items on
the page and I understand what you now mention. Good advice. I don't know
if that is the source of the issue or not, but I will remove them to err on
the side of caution.
