Home Premium-Upgrade Install

Hmmm...OK, my desktop will not read the install disk; after about 5 min of
the drive trying to read it it just reads as "DVD-ROM", and cannot open.
When you check the properties is says that there are 0 bytes used and 0 bytes
free. (It is a 32-bit running system, x86 processor and plays regular DVDs
fine). Laptop...installs just fine. Untill the last part of install,
"completing upgrades" (what seems like the last step) and stops at 28%... and
nothing happens.

If I read correctly, your PC does not see anything on th edosk but your
laptop does. I suspect a problem with your DVD drive on the PC. You nee to
correct that 1st. Can it read any other DVDs? It may need to be cleaned.

Once you are at a point that you can read the drive, I cannot state stongly
enough that you should do a clean install, wiping the drive clean. Save all
your data and do it. You will avoid a lot of headaches.

you can try reload dvd driver, here are steps:
1. type "device manager" in search.
2. expand to "DVD/CD-Rom drivers", double click DVD device.
3. click "driver" tab, click uninstall, click ok.
4. restart computer, vista will reload the DVD driver.
