My internet explorer keeps resetting itself to
about:blank as the home page. I've tried resetting my
home page in the internet options field, it works for 24
hours and then resets itself back to about:blank. I also
ran Ad-aware 6.0 and SpybotSD (both are currently
updated), which found nothing wrongI used CWShredder and
it detected nothing wrong. I also used HiJackThis and it
removed all the mainstream spyware agents. I also ran
Norton virus and no viruses were found on my pc. I
checked my control panel under the add/remove software
and nothing was installed that was out of the ordinary.

I even went into regedit and deleted about:blank from the
main\start page and changed it back to www.yahoo.com

I did notice that HiJackThis found C:\Windows\System32
\blank.htm. When I did a search on blank.htm it doesn't
show up at all. When I go to windows explorer and drill
down there is no such file. I even checked the hidden
files as well and still nothing.

Is there any suggestions you might have for me to reset
my homepage back to yahoo permanently without having to
go through all my steps above just to reset my homepage
for 24 hours?

I'd appreciate any advice you have on resolving this
issue.

My operating system is an XP.

I had the same problem. Used this fix and it worked.

SPYBOT, ADAWRE, and PEST PATROL will find and distroy this Highjacker so that it doesn't happen again, but you must first do this fix to change the setting that the virus put in your registry.
