Home Page Errantly Reset

T

tc

My homepage has been errantly reset to some lesser known
search engine. I've tried the following:

1) Changing it back in Tools > Internet Options > Home Page

....and...

2) Manually changing the appropriate keys in the registry
editor

....and...

3) Running Ad-Aware and agreeing to their suggested
changes.

Each time I do the above, I then reboot and see the same
annoying home page.

Any ideas???

Thanks,
TC

When Ad-aware and/or SpyBot Search & Destroy fails to "fix" a home page
Hijack, use "Hijack This". There are existing Registry patches that we recommend and
use - try the following first -

Go to:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location: Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support.
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/index.php?s=8a236cdf61469fbad3bddbe810be0374&act=SF&f=11
Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

Please post back with your findings from the Spyware Info Forums if you require further assistance.
