home networking

i have an adls modem/router (it has 4 ethernet ports and 1 wireless port), a
desk top pc and a notebook. both the notebook and the pc have windows xp
home edition sp2 installed. with both computers hooked up via the ethernet
lines to the router, i have good internet connection; however, the computer
do not communicate with each other

Um, yeah I can help. Take your hosy computer and make it the other computer.
Now your hosy and other computer should work..

Man come on, how can we help you unless you tell us what the problem is,
what you have done so far, how the network is setup, types of equipment
used, internet connection type and so on.

Im really tired of people who have even less then no clue. I bet Peter Pan
could help you though.

Jeff,

What Robert is trying to tell you is that you need to include a bit more detail
about your problem. Describe your LAN, how it is setup, how everything
connects, and what computers (name, version, and service pack) are connected.
Describe your problem - what are you doing, and what error or problem are you
observing. If an error message is pertinent, an exact quote helps.

Making a post with a descriptive subject helps everybody find YOUR post, and
ensures that more qualified folks will read your post.
