I am having trouble networking two PCs with XP home. I
have a crossover cable, and I used the network set-up
wizard. When I connect the cable and try to share the
internet connection it dosn't work. My ADSL modem only
has a phone line in, and USB out. The network dosn't work
either. I am completly dumb, and do not know much about
it. Any help would be great.

Anth,

Here are a couple websites with excellent tutorials:
http://www.cablesense.com/
http://www.homenethelp.com/

Basically, what you do is:
1) Connect the ADSL modem to the first computer, which we will call the host.
2) Connect the crossover cable between the host, and the second computer, which
we will call the client.
3) Run the networking wizard on the host, selecting "This computer connects
directly to the internet", and "This computer will provide internet service for
other computers".
4) Run the networking wizard on the client, selecting "This computer connects
to the internet thru a gateway or another computer".

If that doesn't help, post ipconfig information for each computer.
Start - Run - "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in
Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
