Anyone know of any good holiday destinations / travel companies suitable for a single, 54 year old, stressed out full time carer please? Preferably in the UK (the less stress and hassle traveling etc. the better). I live in the SE England.

After looking after my mum 24/7 for the past year I need to get away from it all. I am hoping to put her into respite care for a fortnight, around the end of July to the start of September, so any help and advice would really be appreciated please. Thanks

Not sure about the camping, but Devon/Cornwall are great places for a holiday :thumb:

Cornwall :)

One of my favourite places.

Tent, cooker, sleeping back and you're set.

:D

I am looking for a stress free holiday :) As a member of the Scouts Association for the past 26 years, camping is the last thing I want to do.

I am looking for somewhere to relax, stress free and chill out!

Preferably a temperate climate (not too hot or cold - I hate humid climates) and as I said in my original message - Preferably UK (or British Isles) please.

I been reading this thread and just had to comment.

Look, I'm 56 years old and I'm also now single after a life of mostly always having a female there.

So, yeah, holidays with laid on pussy seems like an ideal to me

But it don't work like that, does it?

As I've always understood it, pulling a woman works on chemistry, not calculations.

Agreed, being in right enviroment helps.

And physical attraction is still primary attraction, although I gotta say getting to know someone who you might have thought unnatractive - it helps.

Anyways, I'm pretty much in the same position as you squire, except I ain't got no mama to look after. My Mum's 77 and still pretty cool - she's active. Lucky me, I guess.

Romance can't be calculated (correct me if I'm wrong) it just happens.

Just get out more, circulate, talk, smile, be happy.

It will happen.

That's what they tell me anyway

Sorry to make like light of your situation mate, but I figure I'm pretty much in the same boat.

And I ain't given up yet.

And I still laugh.

And I don't complain.

Have two Disco bookings to do, should be fun.

My friends range from 18 to 70 - they are all marvellous :)

But, gotta say,. all this niceness, I still sleeping alone.

And yes, because PCREview is a family Forum, I've held back.

Ok, in short, don't sweat it, be yourself, it will happen :)

And, to finish, yes, I'm tipsy, but I'm probably speaking from the heart.

It's good to have a partner.

For myself, it's good to have a female partner, they be wonderful :)

Where on earth did you get the idea that I was looking for romance?

I am just looking for a nice relaxing holiday where I can relax after the stress of looking after my mum for over a year. Yes I am single but I am not looking for romance or any relationship.

I know from, experience, how difficult it is for single people of my age to go on holiday by themselves, so I was looking into the possibility of going on a special interest holiday for singles or just a singles holiday.

Despite the fact that I am disabled, I do go out and meet people and I have a good circle of friends, but they are mostly married couples or not the right age group.

Camping is good in the summer, but only for a long weekend of so. But only if the site lets you have a fire and late night drinking!! ;)

Maybe not for you cguil_uk, but believe it or not Butlins over 18 or 21 weekends are really good, lots of beer, women and fun, every ones there for the same reason, to have a great time, get hammered and if your single go out on the pull! The new Shoreline hotel in Bognor is very nice too. :)
