Hijack Browser Modifer not Removed

J

John

Spyware has sucessfully remove a lot of adware etc from
the machine but keeps trying to remove a Browser Modifier
which resides in a C:\Recycler directory and keeps loading
SE.dll without success.

Access to is denied to the sub directory in C:\Recycler ,
this is probably the reason for spyware not removing the
problem software?

Spyware also keeps trying to update definitions from 5687
to 5691 without success is the problem?

Thanks
John

Hi John,
Have you a current, up to date Antivirus program on the machine? If not, I
suggest you take a run over to PandaSoftware or TrendMicro and do a free
online
scan.
Then, let's try this one:Boot into Safe Mode (F8) at startup;
Empty your temporary files AND your Temporary Internet Files C:\Documents
and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder ;
Run the scan while in safe mode;
If you are running SP2, open IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons, and uncheck any
BHO's that you don't recognize.
