high pitch sound while in games

ok have a problem i just upgraded to windows xp and when
i try to play games any game...i get this high pitch
squeal kinda like a hearing test sound....when this
happens it freezes the game for a second or two...like i
was just playing commanche 4 and the whole time the guy
was talking it was couseing this and the game would
freeze...i have a nvidia gforce4 64 meg video and 190
megs of system ram...the processor is a celleron 500 and
i didnt knotice this problem until i upgraded to XP...ive
checked all the cards for conflicts and there are
none...ive upgraded all drivers to sighned drivers...can
anyone else think what this might be...

Hi Sirbum,

I would check and be certain that you're not overheating
your CPU. That squeal could be a warning tone coming
from your system's speaker.
