Hiding addresses on a Distribution List

I have two questions.
(1) When email is sent using a Distribution list, can that list be locked so
that recipients cannot see other addresses?

(2) How do you send email to undisclosed recipients? I am not sure if both
questions are the same any help is greatly appreciated.

In Outlook you can set a BCC: (Blind Carbon Copy) recipient list -
Options \ Show BCC.
