hiberfil.sys will not defrag

Recently after defragging my C: drive I get a 639mb
file /hiberfil.sys that will not defrag. I did a search
to find where this file is located. The search returned
no results. Is this file important? Where is it located?
Can it be safely deleted?

This file is usually a hidden file in the root of C: and
is where the contents of memory go when/if you hibernate
windows. It should be equal or very close to the amount
of physical memory in your computer.

Windows reserves this file ahead of time so it doesn't try
to hibernate without a cave available :)

If you want to get it out of the way for defragging or
whatever, disable hibernation in Control Panel->Power
Options, reboot and it should be gone or easily deleted if
not gone.
