If AOL is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) then you'll need to work
through the problem with them. If they first level support can't help you,
demand to speak with someone more knowledgeable.

If you use a third party DSL provider then connect to AOL, you'll need to
contact your DSL provider.

Sharon,

The no dialtone is a big clue. Is your phone line working? Connect a phone to
the line and see if you hear a dialtone. Is it's working thru the phone, then
the line is ok. Next would be to check out the modem. Go to control panel>phone
line and modem options>modems>highlight your installed modem and click
properties>diagnostics>query modem. If you get a response, the modem is ok, if
not, then the modem may need to be updated with new drivers or replaced
altogether. Post back after you have tried this first.
