What do you mean by 'lie inbetween months'?

There's no way to 'mark off days'

For the first question, I have no idea; I'd like to be able to do that too!

For the second, I don't know any way to mark past days, but you can mark
past appointments. Go to Edit>Automatic Formatting. Click on "add", and
choose a colour under "label". Click on "condition", and then on the
advanced tab. Click the "field" button, and select "End" under "Date/Time
Fields". In the "condition" box, select "on or before", and in "value" type
"yesterday". Click "add to list", and then OK out. All appointments Older
than today should get the selected colour.

Notes:

- OL 2003 and XP only I think.

- If you have recurring appointments all instances, even future ones, will
get the colour because AFAICT it only looks at the end date of the first in
the series. I know no way to overcome that.

- If you have other automatic formatting set up, put this one at the top of
the list or the others will take precedence.

Another way of looking at the request is to always have "Today" at the top
of the screen. I find it ridiculous that in the last two weeks of every
month I'm looking at mostly history rather than what's upcoming.

Pocket Informant on the PPC calls it "rolling month view", and it's
fantastic.

Gordon,

Look at month view today - you'll see loads of stuff you've already done,
very little you have yet to do.

so i can see whats coming up...and not what i did weeks ago!!!

The only other alternative I can see, if you don't need to use Outlook is to
convert to Mozilla Thunderbird and install the calendar extension. That
allows you to view future events in a configurable manner.

Yeah, but that's just a list, not a calendar as such.

I don't know of any calendar that you can configure like that....not in
Mozilla, Evolution, Lotus or Outlook! (And I use/have used the lot.....)

mmm thats what i was thinking..personally i think it looks a bit messy...its
a bit confusing isnt it?
i guess it cant be solved then?

Pocket Informant on the PPC, but no you're right, there is none on the
desktop. There should be though!

Not sure where it is in the menu's of OL2000, but instead try right clicking
on the calendar itself - I think you'll find automatic formatting in there.
It might be called "Conditional formatting"; I'm not sure.

No sorry, my mistake. You can't do it in OL2000, only in OL2002 (AKA OLXP)
or OL2003.

The two later versions both allow use of colours in the calendar, which is
stunningly useful. Sorry, but you're stuck in a grey grey world unless you
upgrade :(

If this was the ONLY feature they'd added in OL2003/2002, I'd still have
upgraded as it makes a massive difference.
