help with restore

hello i would like to a factory restore on my mums dell dimension desktop
2300 could anyone tell me how
it didnt come with a restore disc but it did come with a wndows xp disc so i
reinstalled this and deleted the partition then reinstalled in ntfs but now i
cant change screen resolution or load any discs to reinstall other software
like the internet
please help!

You need to load all the drivers after doing the XP install. There should
be a separate disk with all the drivers. If you don't have it contact Dell
support for help.

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to "load any discs", but after you
did the operating system install you needed to install the drivers for
all the hardware. You will have received a Dell Resource CD that will
have the drivers. If you can't find it, you'll need to go to Dell's
tech support website for your specific model computer and download the
drivers. Obviously, you'll need to do this from a computer that has a
working Internet connection and a cd burner.

Obviously something is wrong with your setup. Macromedia shouldn't be a
factor in a clean install.
