help with kerio - blocking

G

Gumpy

I have started to use Kerio because Zpone was blovcking my downloads.
Now Kerio is doing the exact same thing. I use Getright and it happly
starts , connects; logs in and requests files then stops. As soon as I
exit Kerio then getright works properly. I have Kerio configured to
allow getright in both directions.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong.

I apologise if this is the wrong place but Kerio is freeware and it
was this group that introduced me to it!

There is always a lot of Kerio traffic here:

I had a similar problem with Kerio and a previous post here explained and
helped me solve it: Kerio automatically blocks any program trying to access a
port on the PC that is not already opened (unopened port) without giving you
the accept/deny dialogue box. This can happen frequently, and not be a bad
person scanning your PC for ports to sneak in.

You can suppress this rule by checking the option that you are accessing
the internet `through a proxy server' - even if you are not. This lowers the
security, since outsiders can tell you are there, but stops the blocking. The
author also supplied a pseudo-gateway you can run on your PC, that solves
this problem without lowered security. However, it requires win98 or higher.

The link (to the articles) that you provided don't work for me at this
time. Having a similar problem. Would appreciate any further help you
might offer.

Forgive me topposting

Attn Howard

Could you provide the link to the article'whatever you mentioned
please. I am running WXp
Alternatively the pseudo port number would be just as good.

Cheers
