Been having problems with a continuous pop-up annoyance with something called
Internet Speed Monitor. About every 1minute it will pop up with the heading
Internet Speed Monitor and then will open into another advertisement webpage.
I have been searching internet help and what I've been reading is to
Uninstall it or delete it, but somehow every time I restart my computer, it
seems to have reinstalled itself, but the program is no longer in the
Add/Remove Programs. I also took advice and installed AdAware and it seemed
to help until I restarted my computer again and it starts all over again.
I've also ran the program in Safe Mode. I have Windows Defender installed and
now it is not working and won't open up. I uninstalled it and reinstalled an
updated version and it still won't open the program. I have even set my
Microsoft Pop-up Blocker to high, but seems to do no good.
As I said before I went in to my remove programs and found Internet Speed
Monitor and unintalled it. Then I also traced a file name Ism.exe and deleted
it and neither has helped.
This is very annoying. Even if I disconnect from the internet, I get a
message box asking me if I want to work offline. I didn't see any threads
with this specific problem, however I am sure someone else may have had this
same problem.
Hopefully you can tell me what you did.
I'd like to even know more in depth how this program keeps installing or
hiding itself in my system and how it keeps opening an explorer window
rotating various web advertisements.
