Hi folks,
I am unable to get on to my usual Internet Explorer 6 home page
as it is being hijacked by a program called SpyAxe.
(I run on XP Home version.)
I keep getting warning messages on the bottom right of my computer screen
stating
_____________________________________
"Your computer is infected" "Dangerous malware infection was detected on
your PC The system will now download and install most efficient antimalware
program to prevent data loss and your private information theft.
Click here to protect your computer from the biggest malware threats."
____________________________________
Thankfully Windows gave me the option of refusing/blocking the download so I
don't think I have done any harm.
I have tried a windows search for SpyAxe, and it show that there is an
SpyAxe uninstall option. However, this does not appear to work. I believe it
is a hijack-type program.
Can anyone tell me in (very!) simple terms how to get rid of this nuisance.
(Because I am unable to access IE, I am unable to search for a fix using
Google).
Thanks in anticipation.
Don
