help request, problem running most games of late

[Just Me Two Penith lyke]

a couple of weeks back my pc crashed and since then when trying to run most
of my games in win xp the PC will instantly reset. I don't use the PC for
big games, usually just small puzzle type games that I have downloaded from
the net.
the latest I have downloaded is from http://www.candycrisis.com/ like
others, I can download and install, but when run, it resets. and yet, when
the PC is run in safe mode, the games will then work or get far enough to
tell me why they are failing (due to lack of colors, no sound etc). also,
before downloading, if they have an option to play online, they work okay,
only when I down load the demo and try to run, does it then give me
problems. the PC is working okay with all other progs I use like Word etc..

anyone have any ideas as to why?

What caused the initial crash? You don't say if you're running XP SP2 or
not, or what graphics card drivers you've got installed. Have you
thoroughly checked your machine with your anti-virus program running the
latest definitions? Have you checked for Trojans or parasites? You may
want to take a look at the information here: www.aumha.org/secure and see
if some of the information correlates to your issues.
