Hi Nick
Thought you gave up on me. Thank You again for your patients. When enable
the Line In it plays back the same. Just as if it was recording in Full
Volume. Should I unplug one of my speakers that is plugged into the Line In
port in back of the computer and plug the RCA jack into it? It is now
plugged into the Mic Port. That is the only one that was available. Will it
hurt to unplug the PC Speaker? One of them is big speaker and it the other
ones are the 4 little speakers that go with it.
Thanks Again

Surely you have not, as you just stated, plugged your speakers into your
"line in." And surely you are not attempting to force an RCA plug into a
1/8" microphone (or any other) 1/8" jack. Just take a deep breath, step
away from the computer for a moment, and then take proper note of what
precisely you have connected to what, and in what way. The links I gave
you previously, about how I connect things when I use MusicMatch, apply to
your scenario also except that you are using different software. Also,
see my response at 3:26 this afternoon, regarding the "Y" connector, etc.
When I posted that, I assumed you had gotten that far but please correct
me if I am wrong.

Regards,
Ian.

Mmmm, the mic port (hole :) might be mono whereas you are (or you should) be
inserting a "3-pin" (stereo) 1/8" minijack.
Basically, you should have 2 RCA connectors (from Audio Out on whatever
(DVD,VCR etc) player connected to a "RCA to 3-pin minijack" (a sort of "Y")
adapter. The minijack should be inserted into the "Line In" port of your
sound card. The sound card should detect the type of connection and advise
you if you are using the correct port.
The AC'97 setup CD should have an utility to guide you through the setup
process" 5.1 speakers, mike etc.
