Help please

Hi,

When I save files from IE6 it never saves them as the file
extention e.g When I downloaded Adawre SE 4.0 yesterday
the save as file type indicated Aplication Extension but
after the download I went to the folder it was in and it
was just a file not .EXE. It does this with every file I
download.

Please can someone help.

I have deleted cookies and temp internet files (ticking
the box "Delete all of line content".

Are your "Folder Options" set to show file extensions?
Control Panel>Folder Options, click the View tab
UNCHECK the box "Hide file extensions for known file types"

No, but that shouldn't make any difference. It doesn't on
my PC at work... and it never did in the past on this PC.
I think it's something to do with when the file is saved.
