After I installed some software I had a problem with outlook, so I decided
to do a system restore and when the computer restarted I got the following
error message missing \Windows\system32\config\system.

It also says Attempt to repair this file by starting windows set up using
the origional set up cd rom, select R at first screen to start repair, I
placed the disc in the drive, pressed R and all it did was re booted and the
disc spun but gave me the same error message, I also tried a re boot
pressing the delete key, it is a Dell in the past I have accessed a set up
screen doing this but it just re booted and came the error came back.

Thanks in advance for any help.

.
I have a Maxtor HardDrive who provide a utility for
doing a complete delete of your hardrive (Maxblast). You
can then boot from your Windws installation disk. I've
used it twice in the past ........... no problems.

Have some photos and excel docs that I do not want to lose so I am trying to
avoid a total delete at this stage.
