Help! Lock Down

I'm more than a front page novice. I've been trying to
make small changes to our site while our web mistress is
on vacation but frontpage continually closes down on me.
I can't open certain files and others only allow me to
make one change before it locks and stops responding. I
know the passwords and user name, so it's not that.

I tried downloading the help instructions from microsoft
but I can't understand one word of what they're saying.

Does anyone out there know the solution to my problem?

What version of FP are you using? Are you working at her computer? If not,
was FP properly installed on your computer? How are you trying to open the
pages? What *exactly* happens?

I'm using the xp version..??? Everything should be
installed fine because it has been working for two
months. I try to learn and do a little everyday on FP.
I try to open my pages by going to open web/click on
site/open folder with page I want to change. I have even
attempted to open recent files and recent webs. THis at
least gets me to a page. The other way just freezes and
stops responding. That's all that happens.

You should ALWAYS open the web first, not the page.

These things are consider the "usual repairs."
Try them one at a time and see if they help.

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office
