Help! I cant get away from the Windows Update Site!

M

Merlact

I cant remember any incident that may have caused this
but now everytime I start IE6 it changes the registry
from my home page to:
'http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd={SUB_PRD}
&clcid={SUB_CLSID}&pver={SUB_PVER}&ar=home'
which takes me to the usual Windows Update Site.
Ive changed the registry back and Ive changed the IE6
home page to blank but no matter what I change everytime
IE is started it changes the registry home page to the
above line and redirects me there.
Ive found 1 knowledge base article:
'320159 - Home Page Setting Changes Unexpectedly, or You
Cannot Change Your Home Page Setting'
which doesnt solve the problem and Ive turned off the IE
Advanced Option 'Automatically check for Internet
Explorer Updates' but nothing works.
It must be IE6 making the changes but why? and why now
suddenly? Its not trying to tell me I need to download
updates because Im fully updated.
Please help Im going mad!
Thanks in advance...
