HELP! (happens on startup)

Hello,

Eeverytime I start my computer, an error message comes up
saying

"Adobe Gamma Loader has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It's the message that asks you to "send" or "dont send"
error report so whenever I start my computer I
choose "dont send"

It's just gotten annoying to do it everytime. I can't
figure out how to fix it - HELP!

After you boot to your desktop: Click Start button, click Run
Type: msconfig
Click the OK button.
When the System Configuration Utility opens click on the Startup tab, in the first field
on the left named: Startup Item scroll through the list until you find: Adobe Gamma
Loader.exe. Click to REMOVE the checkmark in the box to the left of that item. Then
click the APPLY and OK buttons at the bottom of that window. You'll be asked if you want
to reboot for the settings to take effect, say yes. The first time that the system
reboots after enabling or disabling an item in the Startup in the System Configuration
Utility, a dialog box opens before your desktop fully loads, saying that you've chosen
Selective Startup. Click on the option in that box to never show the message again.
Thereafter all boots will go as normal, and you won't get the error message for the Adobe
Gamma Loader.

Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes. Look on the
Startup tab and find the entry for Adobe Gamma Loader. Uncheck the box
next to its name, Apply and OK out. You don't have to restart just
then, but when you do you will get a dialog box saying "you've used the
System Configuration tool..." - just check the little box that says,
"don't bother me with this again" and OK out.

Yes it's safe to disable. It is NOT part of the Windows XP operating system. Adobe Gamma
Loader is part of Adobe Photoshop and some of the other Adobe imaging software. Although
I have used Adobe Photoshop for many years, I have never used the Gamma Loader, or made
RGB profiles, which is more for commercial purposes where monitor calibration and colors
must be precise for publishing. For personal use, the Adobe Gamma Loader really isn't
necessary.

Adobe Gamma Loader is part of a gamma correction utility that comes with
some adobe applications that are picture oriented. Since I don't happen to
have the software loaded on this machine, I don't know what the exact
load/run sequence and files are. Usually, you can use msconfig or other
system management tools to prevent the loading of the offending module.
If you do not have any adobe software loaded, and your video card support
software or other software did not include trial versons of picture related
software, it's also possible that a malware application is spoofing the
adobe software.
