I've been using Win XP ICS and Firewall for some time. I have Win XP
Pro on my ICS host, connected to my ISP via ISDN and to my Win XP Home
ICS client via thin ethernet. I have my network manually configured to
use 192.168.10.nnn (because I cannot access the office network via VPN
if I use the setup wizard defaults).
Yesterday I removed an (unsuccessful) attempt at using VPN software
from my ICS client (it works fine from the host/gateway machine) and
now cannot access most websites from the client. Email is no problem,
and I can access www.google.com, but I can't access any other websites
I've tried, which seems totally weird. There are no connection/web
problems from the host (hence this post). The host connects on demand
OK, and I can ping my ISP's server (194.168.4.100) from the client. I
get no error message -- the status bar simply says 'waiting for
www.domain.com' or 'transferring data from www.domain.com', although I
suspect it would eventually time out.
I'd be VERY happy if anyone could point me to a potential solution, as
I depend heavily on Web access for my work. Thanks in advance.
