win2k ad server, windows XP "file server" , windows XP workstations.
all machines have the latest patches.

created a profile, exported using copy from system, set ntuser.dat to .man.
changed the profile path in AD to \\servername\share\profile

when the user tries to log on it says:

Windows did not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on
with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the
server when you logoff. Windows did not load your profile because a server
copy of the profile folder already exists that does not have the correct
security. Either the current user or the Administrator's group must be the
owner of the folder. Contact your network administrator

have checked all permissions, everyone is at full local administrators
group is the owner.

have changed the gpo that ms describes for 2000 xp pre sp about not checking
for file permissions.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Does the user have the share and ntfs permissions to this location? Once
the user has logged on have them try and map a drive or key the path in on
Windows Explorer to see if they can get there. If this appears to all work
clear out the profile path and give them read/write access to see if on log
out the system will save the profile with their settings and see what you
are missing.
