HELP!! @ CHANGING ORDER OF PROGRAMS IN PROGRAM LIST

Guest

I AM NOW USING WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL AND I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHANGE
THE ORDER OF PROGRAMS WHEN I CLICK ON "START" THEN "ALL PROGRAMS".

IN THE EARLIER VERSIONS I WOULD GO IN TO WINDOWS EXPLORER & WINDOWS &
PROGRAM FILES, THEN MOVE THINGS AROUND SO IT WAS EASIER TO FIND PROGRAMS. I
WOULD CREATE FILES LIKE "FINANCIAL INFO." & PUT ALL FINANCIAL PROGRAMS IN
THERE, ETC.

NOW I CAN CREATE THE ACTUAL FILES BY RIGHT-CLICKING START & OPEN, BUT THE
INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS DON'T SHOW UP THERE & THEY WON'T STAY IN ALPHABETICAL
ORDER.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET TO THE RIGHT PLACE WITHIN WINDOWS TO
MOVE THESE LINKS AROUND? THANKS IN ADVANCE

RIGHT CLICK ON ANY PROGRAM AND SELECT "SORT BY NAME". NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN
BY THE PROGRAMS DONT SHOW UP IN THERE.

Okay, first, ditch the CAPS, it's considered yelling, and is difficult to
read..Enough about that, ;)
Okay, first, to add a folder to your All Programs menu, go to the start
button, right click>select Open All Users.
Then, open the Programs folder, right click an empty spot and select New
Folder, name it.
Now, to sort you can either highlight and drag any folder to the position
you want or you can right click any entry and choose 'sort by name'. You
will see that this only applies to some of the items, therefore you will
have to drag those items to your desired location. If you have anything
that begins numerically, those will be first in the order, which you can
change by dragging.
