Help: can't remove program

Hoping that someone can offer some advice on this. I installed a program
that is incompatible, now I can't uninstall it to install the correct
version. When trying to uninstall - either with the uninstall app that came
with the program or by using the programs and feature app in the control
panel, I get a message that the program is incompatible. Any ideas on how
to remove a program manually?
