I was trying to hook my sister's Win2K laptop up to my home network, but
things went awry.
I went to the system settings, where domain was selected and the name
of her work domain was entered.
I chose the radio button for Workgroup instead, and entered the name of
my home network workgroup. It said to reboot.
Upon reboot, she can't login. It's a work computer and she doesn't
have an administrator password, and she's home for the holidays:
1. Is there anything we can do to get her logged in? (i doubt it)
2. What will her work IT people need to do for her to log in? Can she
get in with just and administrator password, or does she need to be
hooked up to her work network? And, if I've now told it not to look
for her work network anymore, will the administrator password work?
(paraphrased... a) how much trouble did I get her (and thus me!) in!
b) is there anything we can do to fix it!)
happy holidays and thanks for your help.
