Help...again

I put a post on here on 9/21. Thanks for all your help so far.
Currently I have removed Spybot and I can only work in Safe Mode. I'm
using AdAware (updated) in Safe Mode. It will not let me download
anything from Windows Update (does it not allow this when you're in
Safe Mode?) After I get a clean slate from Ad Aware I try to do a
normal boot. I still get the following message:
The instruction at "0x77e765od" referenced memory at "0xfc85c6ff". The
memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

The computer locks up after that. I return to Safe Mode and run
AdAware again and it seems like I get the same bugs in there. One that
keeps coming back is SurfSideKick 3. There is a folder in Program
Files with 3 files in it, but I am unable to delete it. It says it's
in use by another program.

I have new copy of NAV 2005, but it won't let me install it.

I've tried to run the free scanner on Trend Micro, but it always
crashes before it finishes.

Any suggestions, or do you think I should just wipe out the hard drive
and start over?

This is just my opinion; but I suspect you have a hardware problem as
well as whatever brought you here the first time . (I haven't read that
post).

The prime suspects here are:

(If you don't feel comfortable with the guts of your computer; take it
to a shop.)

1) bad/poorly seated RAM. Try removing each stick of RAM (one at a
time); carefully clean the edge connector with rubbing alcohol and a
swab; then reinsert them. This is a common problem.

2) overheating caused by obstructed cooling air. The fans drag in an
amazing amount of miscellaneous lint/crud. Remove and or loosen as much
as possible and pull it out with a vacuum cleaner. You may need to use
"canned air" for the crevices and fins on the CPU (and possibly other
places as well) Make sure that you get the power supply fans and cooling
slots. This has caused more "unexplainables" than any other possible
'puter problem.
