The long story, or skip to the botton........Adobe tech support (had trouble
installing Adobe PS Elements4 from disk after "trial" version failed to
install (nternet download) and wouldn't uninstall properly) told me to create
a new user to install Adobe PS Elements. He directed me through the removal
of the various pieces of the trial version and the creation of the new user
and then installation went fine.
The next day when I started the computer I found it opened to the new user
and I couldn't access all my files and many programs behaved as if they were
new. I called Adobe again and the tech took me through how to get back the
open the original user. I assumed "we" had changed settings so that I would
have assess to my original user the next time I started. I tried to have him
tell me again what we had done but he didn't hang around to answer more
questions so I assumed it was "fixed".
Saturday I found I couldn't find the original user and again called Adobe. I
had the complete run around (spoke to 5 over an hour), ending with a rude
customer service who insisted I had never talked to a tech but to a
"overzeolus customer support person" she said, later said "when you talked to
the installation tech", and eventually to (sounded like) a 10 year old boy
who told me to hit control/alt/delete, that it would open administrator (it
opens task manager from the desktop), apparently I had to pay $39.95 to get a
real tech to help me recover from their help. When the 10 year old didn't
know how, he told me there was no one else there (not true, if I would
pay.....) and told me I had a computer problem and should call Microsoft.
I've looked through all the materials I have and can reserach and can't find
directions for it. My computer guy isn't answering his phone (vacation) and I
have so much work to do!!! Help!
What I need/want :
I'd like to completely remove the new user
I need to learn how to get access to my original administrator...step by
step instructions please, I'm in over my head here.
I won't go back to Adobe Monday, I'll never trust them again. Imagine paying
for that kind of help, wow!
