Quick question: My mother wants to use a headset for Skype on her
computer, which has a C-Media AC97 "sound device", which I assume is
the sound card; other than the mic jack it has two other jacks, one of
which works, and the other which does not, regardless of whether
speakers or headphones are plugged into it. I'm wondering if this jack
(the middle one) is damaged. Can anybody in this group confirm this?
Headphones do work in the upper jack, but I'm assuming that it doesn't
have an amplifier, as the volume is very very low. I'm not exactly a
neophyte to computers, but don't know what else to think if there
appears to be no signal from the mysterious middle jack. Thanks in
advance for your reply.
