Need a Sound Card

Well after a few days and many reinstalls, downgrades, and headaches I'm
pretty sure that the soundcard on the motherboard is fried, broken, or
something else I can't think of. Connceting headphones or speakers through
the back jack gives me no sound at all and if I connect through the fron jack
I only get audio in the left speaker/headphone. So now I guess I'll just have
to go out and buy a soundcard. Now that I have XP again this shouldn't be a
problem right? So any suggestions for basic everyday playback? (Preferably
something I could just go pick up at like best buy or circuit city tommorrow)

A simple Soundblaster (Creative) will do. :)
Remove drivers\devices from Hardware Manager and shutdown before you
attempt to install a new card, and disable the onboard audio in your
computer's BIOS before you boot back into Windows after removing the
driver/devices.

My suggestion is you do your research and find what you WANT and can
AFFORD.

Your post has nothing to do with the OS, so ask in a hardware group.
