Hey,

To show how out of touch I am, I have a silly question. My laptop hard drive (60gb) has only 5gb free. I was going to buy an external HD to move a lot of stuff onto, but then thought I could buy a new internal 2.5" drive. Question is, how do I copy all my stuff across?

When I used to work with computers, it would be a case of connecting both hard drives and using xcopy /s/e/r/c/h - however, not sure whether this still works, or whether you can connect two hard drives to a laptop.

Any advice appreciated.

I think the easiest way would be to copy the files over a network to a desktop PC, and then back over to the new drive. On the other hand, you could buy a 2.5 > USB adapter and plug it in externally.

If you want to copy all of the boot files over, I'd use something like Acronis to make the transfer :)
