Hi,
Stupid stupid me. It seems that i crashed my 80gb deskstar hd.

I have two PC, the hd was original in PC1 but then i swapped it into
PC2. Once in PC2 the hard drive was picked up and was displayed in my
computer and in device manager. But when i want to open it, it said do
you want to format. And i checked the size of the hard drive and it
won't register. The hd was working fine in PC1 prior to swap, now it
won't even work in PC1.

I had this problem before with my other hd, and wasn't able to fix it.

Is there anyway of fixing this? I don't want to lose my data, again. I
would be very grateful if someone can resolve this.

thank you,
Kevin

Looks like you did indeed.

Presumably you didnt say you did.
And i checked the size of the hard drive and it won't register.

Not clear what you mean by that.
The hd was working fine in PC1 prior
to swap, now it won't even work in PC1.

That last may be as basic as you not getting the ribbon cable on
the right way around or not plugging the power cable in again etc.

If you have done that correctly, does it show up
in the black bios screen at boot time now in PC1 ?

Was it the only drive in PC1 ?
I had this problem before with my other hd, and wasn't able to fix it.

It isnt clear what you mean by the other hd either.

Maybe.

I don't want to lose my data, again.

You should be backing up your data. No excuse now with DVD burners so cheap.
I would be very grateful if someone can resolve this.

Need some more details about PC1, what drives it had
in it, some of the basics about what sort of PC it is etc.
