Hardware Acceleration

I have problems with wmm freezing, especially when I have a long project (1/2
hour). I read at PapaJohn's about changing the Hardware Acceleration to 3. I
did that and I found it cut the loading time in half, however, I noticed all
the pictures were now pixelated. It I keep it at the 3 setting will that
affect my final project that I want to burn on a DVD? I think not, but I want
to be sure. It is driving me crazy when it freezes after a couple of edits
and then I have to wait 15 minutes for it to load again at the #6 setting.
Thanks for any help.

If reducing your Graphics Hardware
Acceleration improved the issue...you
need to update your Video Driver.

Might be worth a try to search the support
website of your Graphics Adapter's Mfg.
for updated drivers.

Once you have the updated driver installed...
return your acceleration to full.

Other improvements may be realized if
you do some routine maintenance:

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.

no errors)

Thanks for the information I will look into that. I still need to know if
keeping the Hardware Acceleration to 3 as I finish the project, will give me
pixelated pictures when I turn it into a movie. (see my initial post) Thanks

I'm not sure why you would be seeing
pixelated images. What is the pixel size
of the images in question? Did you adjust
your screen resolution?

Experimentation is always the best way
to determine what the result will be...but
from my experience adjusting acceleration
has no effect on image quality.

The pictures were around 1 MB. I did nothing else but change the Hardware
Acceleration from 6 to 3 and then noticed the change in the sharpness of the
pictures. I am not familiar with what Hardware Acceleration does. When I
changed it back to 6 it was ok. I just did not want the pixelated pictures I
was seeing on my computer screen to end up in the final movie due to moving
it to 3.

Well ok but my question was...what is the
pixel size? you know...640x480...1024x768...?

Anyway...I haven't noticed the pixelation on my
system when adjusting acceleration. As I said
it's best to do your own experimenting. Maybe
you should try updating your video driver...
that's what you need.

Maybe this article will offer some ideas about
acceleration:
