Hal.dll is missing...

Hi there,

after creating a Xpe image on a dev machine, we have successfully boot with
that image on the same machine. However, when we try to boot on the target
machine we have this message (more or less): hal.dll is missing. When we
copy hal.dll, then a new message tells that we need also something like
"ntdkl.exe", and so on...

Perhaps we should build the image directly on the target machine ?

What is the format type on the taget machine - FAT or NTFS? Do you have the
FAT and NTFS components in the image?

NTFS. All the components in the image are NTFS.
Note that the target machine has no hard drive but a compact flash memory.

When you formated the target what file system did you use FAT or NTFS? If
FAT then you need to add FAT support in the image or missing HAL.DLL will be
the result.

What media are you booting from?
Do you have FAT and NTFS in th configuration?
Did you run TAP on your target to capture the hardware components?
