Guides are saved with a .PPT or .PPS file, i.e. a presentation, but not with
a template. However, you can set the guides and then save the Master as a
..PPT and use it as a template. However, it won't be available from the
gallery of templates. When you select Format > Design Template, you can
change the "Files of Type" to .PPT and then browse for your presentation and
select it. The effect will be the same as if you were to apply a .POT.

When I create a template in PPT2000, I am trying to add some guides to the
template. I position them where I want them and save as a design template.
When I go to use the new template, there is only one vertical and one horiz.
guide at 0". I have some older templates that retain the correct guide
positions but cant get a new one to do the same. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
