How do I set Drawing Guides?

In PPT 2003, I can drag a Drawing Guide but not always to a specific measured
spot on the slide.

How can I set Guides on precise (5.00" vertical and 3.75" horizontal, for
example) spots on the slide?

Try pressing ALT as you drag. CTRL + Drag creates additional guides, but ALT
overrides the "snap to grid" setting that may be affecting your ability to
place the guide where you want.

Thanks, but I use the ALT key to set page margin guides at the four sides of
the slide. That works fine.

But if I want to set the guide at a specific dimension (i.e. 5.00" above and
below horizontal center) sometimes I can set it at 4.98" or 5.01", but it
just won't let me drag/set the Guide at 5.00". Very frustrating. Can you
help with that?
