Guest Book

I have been reading other post about the guest book, and I would like to add
a name, city/state, and etc field to my guest book. Right now it is just a
comment field, any suggestions. Also I would like to start out by sorting
new to old. But when I right click inside the form, it does not allow me to
sort decending? Please help?

With the built in guest book I think you're stuck with the fields you're
given.

However, you can create your own guest book with the Database results wizard
and use whatever field names you prefer then as your confirmation page when
a post has been sent, make it the page that displays all the entries, sorted
by date descending (most recent to least recent etc.)

This would also make it easier to delete spam that might make it into the
book as all you need do is to download the access db, open it in access and
delete the offending records then save and re publish the file.

On another note (in case you think to ask in future), one way to
reduce/prevent spammers posting in your guestbook, you can try and do a
'question and answer' field that needs to be *typed* in and is a required
field before the form will submit, and cannot be just automated like the
spam bots would mostly usually do. Such as "What day comes after Friday?"
or "What colour is the sky?

I'm sure you've seen those sites where you sign up for a service and they
have that graphic with the line of characters that you type in etc.
Same idea, it helps prevent/reduce auto-signups or auto-postings to the
form.

Andrew,
I have been spammed on my guest boot page to the point where I have
disconnected it for now.
How does the method you describe work?
How to generate a different code word for each entry?
Should this be a seperate page before the guest log page or part of it?
Great idea...
