Greek fonts I type on the IE appearing as symbols

First i had just english then i added greek and then norwegian characters.

In the beginning everything performed just fine but then after a while, whenever i tried to type somethng in greek on some web pages on the internet explorer it was impossible. there just appeared strange symbols.

Also when i try to send an email from outlook express i have the same problem. whatever i try to write with greek characters on the subject line, i will get this message that the email contains characters that may be unreadable and asks me if i want to send it as Unicode etc...

Do u have any idea what is going on?

Is it a virus, or the windows misfunctioning, or my Acer Laptop, orsomething else?

Giasou,

I assume you are using an english version of XP. Go to START>CONTROL
PANEL>REGIONAL and LANGUAGE options

under the LANGUAGE for NON UNICODE programs go and select GREEK, press
apply, ok

If this does not fix your issue, repost...I am currently running xp english
with greek and it works correctly.
What you are seeing is strange... in should not be happening.

What is the exact version of your XP? what language?

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I did everything u recommended. All the fonts that u mentioned were checked. Some of them were dimmed for some reason.
But still i have the same problem. This is what my greek look like when I type:
½ΉΊÎΓ ±»µΗΊΎÎΕ

I tried this also but nothing happens to my writting. Furthermore the page i was viewing in greek (www.google.gr) became unreadable when i chose "Greek windows).
Look what i get if i press "shift" + i on the greek keyboard: â„¢
I get the sign for the trademark. It's like i have another keyboard installed
But with MS Word and all the other applications my greek fonts perform just fine.

It is just with IE and Outlook express that i have the problem.
And on IE there are some pages where it functions ok.

Isn't it weird?
