Graphic Files in Windows Explorer

When I click on a folder which contains over a few hundred graphic files in
Windows Explorer, there is an irritating delay while Windows seems to check
out the files. This happens even when I have checked "List Only". Worse
yet, it also happens in my graphics programs so it takes a long time to open
a graphics file. Is it retrieving thumb nails? Is there anything I can do
to speed up getting at the graphic file that I want.

See if running the edit on Kelly's site helps, line 157, Prevent
Automatic Folder and Icon Refresh:
