ghosting

hi,
I have been having problems ghosting a standard XP install to an
dvico usb2 40GB hard drive? Ghost can see the hard drive the hard
drive when configuring the image with in XP, but when it reboots and
tries to ghost it fails complaining it cannot see the external drive?

i can see the hard drive from DOS (ghost bbot disk) but it says it
will take about 2 hours to ghost 2 GB worth of data, is that correct
using USB2??

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions..

First off, in Ghost, make sure to enable the USB drivers. Second, the
time given is pretty close since it needs to take the time to make the
image, compress it, and send it through. Also, it may only run at USB
1.1 with USB support. This all depends on your chipset and how Ghost
supports it.

What version of Ghost are you using?

I use 2003. I have not used it in quite a while, but when I do, I
always use the boot disk. Starting Ghost from within XP has always
caused me problems :(

There is an update to Ghost 2003 that addresses USB problems. Go to
Symantec and see if you can find it.

Thanks for all the reply's.
I am using Ghost 2003 and i have tried enabling the Usb in the
Advanced options. i have tried enabling both the usb 1.1 and 2.0
options too see what happened. On both occations it still complained
about not being able to see the external hard drive.
I will do as you suggest Manda, and visit the symantec website for
updates.
thanks.
