Getting Started Access 2003 Help!

I own an inspection service company serving the mortgage industry and the
insurance industry.
My company is less than 2 years old and growing very fast. I need some
suggestions concerning the use of Microsoft Access 2003 that i have.

I currently use Excel for database purposes and it has been working ok....
but I now am nearing 7000 (7K) inspections in the database and I need to do
something different. Our office personnel enter about 25-50 inspections per
day into the system. Some of these are "repeat" inspections. Each
inspection can be searched by any of the name or address fields but we use
mostly a "loan number" which is a unique identifier for each one.

What I really need to do with access, is to set this database up where, when
the office people enter the loan number.... then it automatically pulls up
the last time we did the inspection with all the information including name,
address, contact info, and inspection results.

My question to the group would be.... can access do this..... and is there
a quick, easy to learn, way to make it happen?

Once I get it set up I can fly with it..... but I am in a major time crunch
and do not have hours to spend figuring it out.... I am fairly
computer/software literate.... not a total dummy.... just part dummy....

Red Adair said something like "You can have it cheap, you can have it fast,
you can have it good; pick any two".

Probably you best bet is to look at trade journals and see if there is a
commerial products out there designed to do the job. This would be the quick
and easy. Might cost a few bucks though; however another famous Red Adair
quote is: "If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job,
wait until you hire an amateur."
