Get rid of text box added to autoshape

Paul

I am using Powerpoint 2003. I added a textbox to an autoshape by
right-clicking the autoshape, then choosing Add_Text. How do I get
rid of the textbox? Thanks!

you can't get rid of it. "Add text" is the same as just typing in the
autoshape, Powerpoint will never forget that there has been some text in
this autoshape. The autoshape will always show a different border than a
shape that has never contained text. But there is no "textbox" inside the
autoshape, it's just a shape with a broad border.

This behaviour doesn't bother. Is there a specific reason that you want to
get rid of it?

I'm not use to it. Philosophically, there shouldn't be two ways to
reresent the same thing (textless autoshape). I'm sure that this
period of angst will pass.

Paul, I understand you quite well! It's a bit confusing to see one autoshape
with a different border just because it had had text in it a long time ago.
Usually, noone wants to know that this autoshape contained text in the past.
Some we get more information we want to have :)
